Located in Florida, Equip Engineering is a top provider of solar engineering and permitting services, boasting over 2,000 projects across 200+ jurisdictions.

Despite their impact in renewable energy, their website struggled with low visibility due to poor SEO. I was tasked with crafting a tailored SEO strategy to transform their digital presence and boost online engagement.

Challenge

Ecuip Engineering faced a major hurdle. While they excelled at delivering solar engineering services in Florida, their website struggled to gain sufficient online visibility.

This made it difficult for new customers to discover them on search engines, particularly when local competitors, with better SEO, outranked them.

They wanted to establish a foothold and rank high for commercial solar engineering keywords specific to Florida to spark more interest in their services.

The goal was to increase their website's search engine visibility and rank high for local keywords to attract more customers.

1. Discovery Meeting

I launched Ecuip Engineering's SEO campaign by having a discovery meeting with the CEO.

To understand their goals, dive into the details of their services, pinpoint the target market, and identify the key competitors.

This foundational step was crucial for developing an SEO strategy that was tailor-made for Ecuip's unique position in the market.

2. SEO Audit

After this initial meeting, I carried out a full SEO audit of the website.

The audit revealed no significant website issues but the findings uncovered opportunities for improving the website’s content strategy and website structure.

So, addressing these areas became my focus.

3. Improving Website
Structure

To improve the website’s user experience and search engine efficiency, I optimised the website's structure for SEO.

Making the website’s navigation menus more intuitive and user- friendly immediately improved user experiences and search engine crawlability.

This was a crucial step because a well-organised website does a better job of keeping visitors engaged and aids search engines in indexing and discovering content more efficiently.

4. Conversion Tracking
Setup

Next, I turned my attention towards setting up conversion tracking.

I started by ensuring that the Google Analytics and Google Search Console tracking codes were installed and working correctly, and then I set up custom conversion tracking using Google Analytics 4.

This step was crucial for understanding how users were interacting with the site, allowing me to make data-driven optimisations.

5. Content Strategy, Keyword
Research & SEO Strategy

Recognising the need for a revamped content strategy, I analysed Ecuip’s competitive landscape and identified the need for more keyword-focused service pages and blog articles.

After conducting keyword research, I discovered a variety of highly-lucrative keyword ideas that matched the client’s goal.

Over the following months, I wrote and published targeted content centered around these keywords

6. On-Page SEO Optimisation

I revamped the website’s internal linking strategy by linking new service pages with quality, relevant articles, boosting the site's SEO.

I also ensured the website’s existing pages were optimised to maximise search engine visibility.

7. Execution

Over 4 months, I executed these SEO activities.
